Against all odds, within one year, Philo Farnsworth, his wife, her brother, and two assistants produced the first working electronic television camera tube dated September 7, 1927. It was built by Pem’s brother, Cliff Gardner, based on Phil’s patents. The rounded lens resembled an eyeball and it only broadcast a single line.
