One of only four such sets made, this television uses a 48–line mechanical television system developed in 1927 by Ernst W. Alexanderson at the GE laboratories in Schenectady, New York. This was the receiver used by the Director on the set of “The Queen’s Messenger”, the very first drama ever televised.
